Our Story
The parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus completed a 25-year journey from a small Catholic community, to a satellite mini parish, and finally into a full-fledged parish led by its main parishioners, primarily the residents of Brookside Hills Subdivision in Cainta.
- As with many recently established parishes, Sacred Heart traces its beginnings to a Catholic chapel built in 1974 inside the subdivision, together with the clubhouse and administration office.
- Over the years, while the chapel was improved and expanded, community leaders worked for the legal cession of the 1,863 sq.m lot to the Diocese of Antipolo.
- With this milestone realized in 1998, the community witnessed the canonical erection of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and the installation of its first parish priest, Rev. Fr. Rosalio Olaybal, on April 24, 1999, during solemn rites officiated by Bishop Protacio G. Gungon.
